Website Evaluation
Website Evaluation
While the Internet might make researching seem simple, you need to think about your sources of information. Here are a few things you need to consider when evaluating a website before using it in your research. Try to remember the acronym CRAB when doing your research!
-
- When was this webpage created or updated?
- Does it link to other current sites?
- Are there dead links on the page?
-
- Does the information fit your project?
- Does it link to other useful sites?
-
- Can you summarize it in your own words?
- If not, the site might be too hard!
- Can you tell who wrote it?
-
- Is this site’s information intended to inform?
- Is it trying to persuade or sell something?
