Device for Student Learning During School Closures

DEVICE FOR STUDENT LEARNING DURING SCHOOL CLOSURES
During our temporary school closures, families can immediately access our Student Learning Activities tab located on our District website. You will find a plethora of resources to engage your children. In addition, subject specific and grade level (daily/weekly) activities will be available beginning Monday, March 23rd. The intent of these activities and the resources available on our Student Learning Activities tab is to provide students the opportunity to practice, enrich, apply and maintain skills learned to date.

To support students without access to devices, we are providing families an opportunity to checkout a Chromebook beginning Wednesday, March 18th through Friday, March 20th at several school sites. Priority will be given to families with financial need.

In addition, Cox and Spectrum have made their WiFi hotspots available at no cost for members in our community. Please see the Cox map and Spectrum for locations of the hotspots. No password is required.

Chromebook checkout will be available at the following locations between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.:  Joli Ann Elementary, La Mirada Academy, San Marcos Elementary, Twin Oaks Elementary, San Elijo Middle School, San Marcos Middle School, Mission Hills High School, and San Marcos High School. In addition, the San Marcos Unified District Office will provide device checkout between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Please see the attached flyer for more information on the Chromebook checkout and WiFi availability.
