Website Evaluation

Website Evaluation

While the Internet might make researching seem simple, you need to think about your sources of information. Here are a few things you need to consider when evaluating a website before using it in your research.

Try to remember the acronym CRAB when doing your research!

Current

When was this webpage created or updated?
Does it link to other current sites?
Are there dead links on the page?

Relevant

Does the information fit your project? Does it link to other useful sites?

Appropriate

Can you summarize it in your own words? If not, the site might be too hard! Can you tell who wrote it?

Biased

Is this site’s information intended to inform? Is it trying to persuade or sell something?
