Letter to Students and Parents

I am so excited to start the new year at La Mirada Academy, IB World School. I am doubly excited to see our returning students as 7th graders and our incoming new 6th graders.

I live in Carlsbad with my husband and two children. My daughter is in 10th grade, and my son is in 5th grade.

My family and I love to travel and learn about other cultures.  As a child I had the privilege to travel to different countries. As a result, I learned to speak four languages: Farsi, (spoken in Iran), Gugurati, and Hindi (spoken in India), and of course English.

My travel experiences has allowed me to appreciate and respect other cultures.  I believe in today's diverse society our children must learn international mindedness in order to appreciate, respect and understand other cultures.

I earned my BA from UC Davis and I worked in the tech industry for several years.  However, I decided to change my career and obtained my teaching credential from San Marcos State University.

I am passionate about our environment and climate change and dedicate my free time to Environmental Organizations. I also love to laugh, be outdoors and spend time with my family.

I look forward to meeting parents and students and building a positive relationship in order to make your journey a positive and fun one at La Mirada Academy, IB school.
